Brahmāstra Part One Shiva is now eyeing its OTT release. After a more than appreciable theatrical run, Brahmāstra Part One Shiva is now set to release on Disney+Hotstar in India. But that was pretty obvious from the beginning as the platform even participated in the promotions of the movie.
In the USA however, the movie will be released on Hulu on the same day in all languages.
It could be guessed because Dharma Productions and Hotstar’s Koffee With Karan also streamed in the USA on Hulu.
Regardless, the movie will drop on Disney+Hotstar on the 4th of November.
The bigger question is, will Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva receives the same love on OTT as RRR did?
Firstly even if it does then we might never know. Unlike Netflix, neither Disney+Hotstar nor Hulu releases any official data on the views earned by the movie.
So we could easily analyze the record-breaking views of RRR on Netflix but not the same with Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva.
Secondly, we are very sure that the views of Brahmāstra will be leaps and bounds more than that of RRR in India.
It is because of the insanely huge subscriber base of Disney+Hotstar that Netflix India doesn’t even come close. Secondly only Hindi audio of RRR is available on Netflix while all five audios will be streaming on Hotstar itself.
But internationally, we don’t think that Brahmāstra will come close to RRR. Needless to say, RRR is a better-written film than Brahmāstra and it was the “story+visuals” that triggered the international audience to watch RRR.
But in the case of Brahmāstra, no doubt the visuals are even better but the writing portion falls flat.
So the film is not something that will even attract the audience to watch it on Hulu.
So yes, good luck to Dharma Productions with Brahmāstra Part Two: Dev.
