The teaser for ‘Nikosh Chhaya’ has been released and it seems it will be a popular show on Hoichoi. The horror series is a sequel to ‘Parnasharvarir Shaap’ and is based on the novel of the same name by Souvik Chakroborty.
Chiranjeet, the superstar of a time, is playing Bhaduri moshai, a tantric or ghost-hunter. While the role is getting popular day by day and Chiranjeet has really molded it in a way that gives it a huge mass appeal, the question arises that will the actor ever be able to make a comeback in the theatrical space of Bengali cinema!
Chiranjeet has given the industry some of its biggest hits and has reigned as the solo star for a long time. His movies like ‘Moryada’, ‘Beder Meye Josna’, ‘Phiriye Dao’ were big blockbusters but now he is reduced to character roles in anthologies. Audiences love him in such roles of course, but in other industries, filmmakers are giving chances to the stars of previous decades to have solo movies and they are performing miraculously well. After Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, now Bengali filmmakers too need to have solo movies with actors like Chiranjeet. Fans are going to love it.
We expect that directors like Srijit Mukherjee or Koushik Ganguly will someday come up with a story suitable to their age and legacy and the movie will work out well just like Vikram or Jailer.
