Marvel is successfully finding its elements, and that too with the series. Though their movies are sort of underwhelming, at least their recent ventures, but talk about the series, and they are stronger than ever. Especially when Daredevil is on the horizon, MCU is holding its market stronger than ever.
But amidst all these, ECHO created a good buzz.
The fans loved some aspects of it, especially the combat scenes of the series grabbed attention. Also, the street-level heroes are bringing a breath of fresh air among the fans; even the character of Kingpin is becoming the street-level Thanos.
So, as the series got good expectations, the fans wanted to get certain updates about the future of the franchise.
Marvel’s Echo Season 2 faces uncertainty as a Marvel Studios executive delivers a disappointing update. Despite positive audience feedback for its grounded storyline, mature action, and cultural representation, the series might not see a renewal as part of MCU’s Phase 5 and Marvel Spotlight initiative.
Cinematographer Kira Kelly, from Marvel’s Echo, remains uncertain about Season 2 for Alaqua Cox’s character.
“I’m not sure about that. I feel like the world – you know, anything that we can see Alaqua [Cox in] would be amazing. Whether it’s another season for her or whether or not she’s in the ‘Daredevil’ show coming up or any other show. I would just love any excuse to see Alaqua perform again.”
While expressing the desire for Cox’s return in the MCU’s future, Kelly highlights Marvel Studios’ focus on street-level stories, fueled by increased viewership in Hawkeye, Daredevil, and The Punisher.
It was even a rumor that Marvel will be focusing on a different slate for the street-level heroes, which will definitely be something refreshing and a distraction from the main timeline.
