Mohit Suri’s ‘Ek Villain Returns’ is now coming to Netflix, more than a month after its theatrical release on 29th July, 2022. Spiritual sequel to the 2014 hit film ‘Ek Villain’, ‘EkVillain Returns’ will premiere on Netflix on 9th September, 2022.
While the first part was a massive success, ‘Ek Villain Returns’ failed to impress despite a decent hype built around the film during pre-release. The film could not be a box office hit and also received mixed to negative reviews from critics and viewers.
This could be due to higher anticipations because of the prequel’s storyline that made the viewers over expect. But not all was bad about the film, many even praised it for its thrilling moments, amazing visuals and good music.
How the film turns out on Netflix now will be interesting to see as it’s getting tougher by the day to attract the audience to the theatres since the pandemic made people switch to entertainment inside the comfort of their homes.
‘Ek Villain Returns’ is a dark and intense sequel to the 2014 action-thriller box office hit ‘Ek Villain’ starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and Aamna Sharif. The film is said to be filled with enthralling action sequences along with major twists in the plot.
‘Ek Villain Returns’ is directed by Mohit Suri who is known for his films like ‘Murder 2,’ ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Awarapan’, ‘Malang’. Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor through Balaji Motion Pictures and Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar through T-Series have jointly produced ‘Ek Villain Returns’.
‘Ek Villain Returns’ will start streaming on Netflix from 9th September, 2022.
