Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ first glimpse was unveiled recently and people have since poured huge praises for the national award winning actress for her impeccable portrayal of former Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. But will ‘Emergency’ break the box office failure streak for Kangana Ranaut?
Kangana’s last two films, i.e. actor-politician J. Jayalalitha biopic ‘Thalaivii’ and spy action thriller drama ‘Dhaakad’, were total box office disasters and failed miserably in commercial terms. While Kangana was applauded for her acting skills in both, she could not pull the films through at the box office.
Dhaakad’s fate was such that on its eighth day in theatres the film was able to sell only 20 tickets and was trolled all over the net for the same. But things seem to looking good for the national award winning actress post ‘Emergency’.
Whether it’s the appearance, the voice or the way she carries the overall persona of former Indian PM Mrs. Indira Gandhi it all looks pretty immaculate. But then again if the film’s storyline and screenplay aren’t strong as needed, it would be quite difficult for Kangana to carry the film on her shoulders alone.
