Netflix is known for its vast reservoir of content across different genres, and I guess it’s safe to say that not many players can compete with that kind of quantity and quality regularly. Everywhere you go there seems to be some semblance of a Netflix show, whether it is social or the traditional media.
While Netflix has celebrated cultures and given a huge boon to massively talented and underutilised actors and filmmakers another great thing about this streaming platform is that they have also put out a lot of free content for its users in recent times.
For a platform that mainly survives on a subscription-based model, this may seem like a suicide move, but Netflix has always been known to break stereotypes. I guess that comes with being a pioneer in any field. This kind of charity (I guess you could call it that) is not just out of a sudden wish for giving but maybe another tactic to get as many eyeballs as possible.
YouTube is filled with a plethora of free Netflix content such as the critically acclaimed show ‘Patriot Act’, ‘Explained’, ‘Abstract Art of design’ and ‘Our Planet’. Another addition to this list is the famous teen drama ‘Grand Army High School’ whose 1st episode was put out for free just 3 days ago.
While all the other titles mentioned were closely leaning towards educational content which could help the audience in a big way. This is a big step in the list of free Netflix content.
If we know one thing about Netflix, it is that they do not leave even a single opportunity to market their content in a fun and quirky way. Their use of Mirzapur characters in their own memes should help clarify my point here.
But apart from that, what we need to look at is whether this free content is just another way to coax people into joining up on Netflix? Not that they need to do that exclusively, but any ulterior motive or not this is certainly a big win for the viewers for in my opinion they will get to see a lot of free content like this in the future.
