The good old days are probably over as Marvel’s one of the most entertaining franchises just lost its parent figure. But James Gunn, the parent figure, did find a home, and that too in the palace of DC. But, fans will definitely miss his spice in MCU.
So, will he be sitting in the director’s chair for MCU?
The shortest and simplest answer is NO, and that too without any catches. Being the CEO of DC does come with its restrictions, and working with the opposite franchise is one restriction he has to maintain.
Now, the Guardians are definitely one of the finest franchises, in terms of entertainment as well as financial success. But after the appointment, this must stop as the fans have already speculated. But again, there was a tiny kindle of hope
But, that’s gone now.
Gunn, on threads, confirmed that it’s not possible for him to be associated with MCU as he replied to the question regarding the chances of him writing a film for Marvel. He clearly says, ‘I could not either physically or legally.’
After asking more on this, Gunn assures that he has enough on his plate already, which is factually true as Gunn is busy with the Superman project. So yes, MCU fans, blow the candles of hope up as Gunn is showing zero to no chance of returning, but his new DC projects do look promising. But again, it is DC, so…
