The myths state that Kalki will ride a white horse and be our ultimate savior from the evils of Kali Yuga, but aren’t the concepts of good and evil subjective? On one hand, Kalki is the savior, but Kalki 2898 might crush dreams and be the literal Bad Newz.
Released on June 27, Kalki screams success. In terms of domestic collections, the film grossed ₹595 Cr and is breathing down the neck of Jawan. When the Bad Newz trailer was released, it was speculated that Kalki would slow down to make room for the upcoming adult comedy.
But things can’t be more wrong.
At least the Book My Show numbers will differ.

In the last 24 hours, Kalki 2898 AD sold more tickets than Bad Newz, even on its 22nd day. On paper, Kalki sold 57.24K tickets at the time of writing this article. On the other hand, Bad Newz reached a number of 49.29K ticket sales in the last 24 hours. But the major point is that Bad Newz will definitely get an edge as the film is opening today, and the total number of sold tickets adds up to 81K.
But Kalki’s BMS numbers are worth considering. Bad Newz works on a pretty modern concept, and its prime audience is those who live in Tier 1 cities or advanced Tier 2 cities. And how do they book the tickets? They use platforms like BookMyShow.
Though the number game might be completely different in single screens and offline ticket bookings, Bad Newz needs to outshine Kalki in terms of BMS ticket sales to have a successful box-office run.
