Apart from the content that the Malayalam industry speaks of, its older classics always contained the soul of wind, water, and wood. Veteran director Sathyan Anthikkad has been able to give such efforts that had brilliance in such souls with wrapping up the feel-good sweetener.
As per the latest updates, the director is joining with actor Mohanlal for an upcoming film to which they had previously associated with a plethora of such soulful movies. Can it be able to give the same evergreen and nostalgic moments for this effort?
‘Hridayapoorvam’ (Eng. With A Loving Heart) is expected to be a family drama that is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas based on the story by Sonu TP, who will also co-write the screenplay as well as dialogues with the director.
After the 2000s, the director worked with the actor for films like ‘Snehaveedu’ and ‘Ennum Eppozhum’, having the same genre, and was a super hit at the Mollywood box office. Similarly, the director had an unconventional break in his style and genre of movie conception with the actor for the flick ‘Pingami’ (1994), which is a revenge drama.
As per today’s context, the lack of better feel-good family drama is missing in Mollywood albeit the present status of the industry is filled with great content-driven projects. But what can be its limitations?
On the contrary, the outdated concept regarding interrelationships and repetition of the same story idea can make the audience tiresome and can also prevent novelty. The director’s recent efforts like ‘Makal’, ‘Puthiya Theerangal’, etc. are some of its kinds.
An ensemble cast of actors Aishwarya Lakshmi, Sangeetha, and Sangeeth Prathap are supposed to play pivotal roles in the film. Justin Prabhakaran will be composing the music as well as the background scores, Anu Moothedath will handle the cinematography, and Prasanth Madhav will be the art director of the film.
