Police Dam will soon have her OTT debut on Hoichoi. Her new series ‘Kaberi’ will be premiering on the 8th of October. The show is directed by Sauvik Kundu and it will also star other actors like Sourav Chakroborty.
But it looks like the makers have chosen a very wrong time for the release of the show. october 8th is not at all suitable for an ambitious OTT project. Durga Puja will be in full bloom at the time and there is no way people will stay inside and watch a new series for almost the whole of the month. And also during the Puja, three anticipated Bengali titles are releasing in theaters, not to mention the movies from Hindi, English and other languages. People will mostly go out and enjoy with their loved ones for the whole of October and there is more probability that ‘Kaberi’ will go unnoticed by audiences.
It might reach its expected audiences after a certain time, but it will definitely not make it in the first week of the first month. If it manages to create a good hype through word-of-mouth, then there are still some hopes. But the makers could have easily avoided this risk by delaying the release for one more month or at least two weeks.
