OTT has come to the rescue of the audience during the Lockdown. While the entire entertainment industry including the cinema shut down, OTT is the sole source of entertainment. Almost all the OTT platforms gained immensely in terms of their subscriber base and the time the users spent on their platforms.
But then with the pandemic easing in India, things are getting back to normal and the Government of India has even allowed 100% occupancy in theaters. In some states, audiences are thronging to theaters and in some states where the theatrical business is yet to resume, the audience is engrossed in other entertainment avenues.
In whichever way, it is evident that the OTT boom is no longer booming. Amazon Prime Video’s much-awaited Web series, The Family man 2 starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani may be the savior for the OTT world from here. Samantha Akkineni is making her Digital Debut with the web series. The Family Man is the most successful web series even before the COVID-era. So, naturally, there is a huge hype for the second part. So all eyes will be on this project releasing this Summer. The Family Man 2 was supposed to release in February but got postponed at the last minute.
