Sita: The Incarnation has been one movie that has been making a lot of buzzes. There is news about it every other day and it seems like this is one movie that people feel would be grand. As the name suggests, the movie is based on the mythological character, Goddess Sita. The buzz was strong that Kareena Kapoor would be essaying the role of Sita in the movie, but this news saw quite a big backlash on the internet. But now, the creators have a piece of different news altogether.
KV Vijayendra Prasad, the writer for the movie “Sita: The Incarnation” has now come out and mentioned that apparently, Kareena Kapoor won’t be the one essaying the role of the Goddess. The rumors were strong back then that besides Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt was the other name that was being considered, but looks like this won’t be happening too at the moment. Either that or probably people had mixed up Alia Bhatt’s upcoming character in SS Rajamouli’s “RRR”, where she is named “Sita”.
So, given that Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are out of the equation at the moment, fans are curious as to who will portray this legendary character. As per KV Vijayendra Prasad, an established face would not be acceptable by the audience for the role of Sita. This brings them to the point that they are now considering recruiting a brand new face for the role.
Many have gone on to say that one of the major reasons Kareena Kapoor is out of the project, is because of her price hike. There was a big debate on the internet some time ago, when it was revealed that Kareena Kapoor will be charging Rs. 12 Crores for the role, whereas her normal fee is somewhere around 8-9 crores. This had people angered, as they felt she should not ask for such an amount because the character she would be essaying will be of Goddess Sita.
But come to think of it, the amount might be a bit higher, but maybe it was needed. First of all, the character is no joke, there are a lot of emotions related to the character, and people all over the country are attached to it. Secondly, this is one of the big-budget upcoming movies, everything about this movie will be grand and it has even been mentioned that it will be something as grand as Baahubali. Now, that itself is a strong statement, and if the project is that big, Kareena Kapoor definitely needed a raise, if she was cast.
Now, coming back to the movie and getting a fresh face for the role. Getting a fresh face for the movie might be a great deal for the creators, as there won’t be any assumptions about the actress. Also, to the audience and a sensitive country like India, a fresh face would be like a fresh slate and there won’t be any unwanted and unnecessary news about it. But, then again having an established face would have definitely given an edge to the film, because an established actress would already have her fan base which definitely would have helped the movie rise up more.
But, given that it is a movie coming from KV Vijayendra Prasad, who has penned the stories for the movies in the Baahubali duology and movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan amongst others it already is a solid movie in production. Not to mention that the story is based on Goddess Sita, and how the entire Ramayana was from her point of view, this itself feels like something more than enough for people of India to watch the movie.
The movie at the moment is filled up with lots of expectations, hopes, and excitement for the fans. It would be interesting to see in the coming times, how the movie pans out to be.
