We have watched three different trailers for the upcoming Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. But did you notice something similar about all those trailers? Makers didn’t show Paul Dano’s face in all of them. It seems like they are hailing his character as the surprise package of the film. Director Matt Reeves has guaranteed that fans will see the darkest and most different version of the lover of riddles. And he is determined to make The Batman even better than Christopher Nolan’s trilogy. But the latter’s trilogy succeeded due to its phenomenal villains and the people who portrayed them on the screen. Now, the burden has landed on Paul Dano’s shoulders. Will he be able to play the best version of The Riddler? Will this supervillain character help him to achieve the fame he deserves? Let’s find out!
First, we like to declare that Paul Dano is severely underrated. The amount of acting talent he treasures and displays on the screen is unbelievable. Do you remember when the great Daniel Day-Lewis drank his milkshake in Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood (2007)? The leading man might have glimmered the most in that notable scene. But Dano showed terrific resistance against Day-Lewis’ screen-devouring presence there. Furthermore, his performances in Prisoners, Swiss Army Man, Okja, War & Peace tv series, and many more are simply outstanding.
Despite bestowing enticing performances, only a limited number of moviegoers know Dano’s name. The latest ‘The Bat and the Cat’ trailer displayed more of The Riddler. It gives a deep understanding of the supervillain’s motives in the forthcoming DC movie. He even knows The Caped Crusader’s real name this time. He is laser-focused to slander Wayne’s family name in Gotham City and break Bruce from the inside.
Like we mentioned above, The Batman consists of The Riddler’s darkest version ever. He leaves riddles for Vengeance after committing a serious crime. It seems like Reeves has gone for a serial killing persona of The Riddler for his upcoming directional project. The director is known to bring the best out of his performers. He has done an incredible job with Pattinson. And we are damn sure that he will do the same with Dano.
The Riddler is stealing all the limelight these days. And we have not seen his face yet. This scenario shows Paul Dano’s exceptional acting talent. May he finally gets the stardom he deserves after The Batman’s release in March 2022.
