“The Boys” is not just another comic book adaptation but definitely one of the finest works in the genre. Unlike Marvel or DC, it doesn’t hold back and often takes a darker path, earning a great reputation for doing so.
The last season of the show was definitely bonkers, especially considering its grandeur. The Soldier Boy arc was one of the best storylines in the history of television, and if you were astonished by Season 3, there’s a possibility that Season 4 will blow your mind. At least that’s what some of the cast are saying.
According to the storyline, this upcoming season has to be a blockbuster. On one side, Homelander is more wicked than ever, Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to becoming the political empress, and Billy Butcher has only a few months to live. Things are getting tougher for The Boys.
But the hype is real, especially with such high stakes. This is evident in every interview before the premiere.
Jack Quaid, in a recent interview, emphasized how significant Season 4 could be. With a greenlight for a fifth season already, we don’t expect the action to stop anytime soon.
“They always find a way to somehow find new beats, and they never repeat themselves. It’s been really cool. This is my favorite season that we’ve ever done. The writers have topped themselves. There are those moments that are big and explosive and gross and insane, and there’s stuff that tops even the craziest stuff that we did last season, if you can believe that.”
Jack further built the hype, “People are like, ‘This is such a crazy moment,’ and I’m like, ‘It’s fine.’ There are certain moments in this season that, when I initially read them in the script, I gasped out loud, which is very hard to get me to do after four seasons. But yeah, you know right away when you’re reading it that it’s gonna be pretty crazy. At first, you think of it in a very practical way and you’re like, ‘That’s gonna take three days.’ But when something is so insane that you are just viscerally reacting to words on a page, you know it’s good, and we have a lot of that this season.”
This does look incredibly promising, especially with the stakes for the show being higher than ever before. “The Boys” has always delivered, and with the premiere just around the corner on June 13th, expectations are sky-high.
