Ever since the two volumes of Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’ series came out, the neo-Western martial arts films have carved a special place in the hearts of ardent cinephiles. Soon after ‘Kill Bill: Volume 2’ was released in the year 2004, Tarantino had expressed his intentions to make not one but two sequels – Volume 3 and 4 with Uma Thurman reprising her role as the dreaded assassin. But that obviously didn’t happen.
Recently, fans again started speculating that a third ‘Kill Bill’ movie is being planned by Tarantino and is already in the works. The grapevine suggested that Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke’s daughter Maya Hawke would feature in the potential sequel.
However, these speculations have been laid to rest by the man himself. Quentin Tarantino, in a recent interview with DeMorgan, has clarified that ‘Kill Bill: Volume 3’ is not happening. Much to the dismay of his fans and longtime admirers of the ‘Kill Bill’ movies, Tarantino further said that his last movie is about a film critic, a male critic and that he plays in the 70s. This implies it’s highly unlikely now that Quentin Tarantino would direct a third ‘Kill Bill’ film unless he has a change of mind in the future.
Besides the slickly executed ‘Kill Bill’ films, Quentin Tarantino’s illustrious directorial filmography consists of films like ‘Reservoir Dogs’, ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Inglorious Basterds’, ‘Django Unchained’, ‘The Hateful Eight’, and ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’, etc.
Coming back to ‘Kill Bill’, it’s an ultra-stylish martial arts action-thriller which starred Uma Thurman in the role of a top-grade assassin, who, after waking up from a coma, decides to take brutal revenge on her former team of fellow assassins, who had left her to die. The film’s sequel ‘Kill Bill: Volume 2’ that released in the following year was also a critical and commercial success like its predecessor.
