Malayalam action thriller drama ‘Identity’ released in cinemas earlier this month but had an underwhelming response. The film by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul is now set for its digital debut on Zee5 this January 31st, 2025.
In ‘Identity’ a sketch artist and a cop work together to unravel the identity of an elusive killer using the descriptions of his face, etched into the memory of an eye-witness to the brutal crime.
‘Identity’ star Trisha and Tovino Thomas alongside Vinay Rai, Aju Varghese, Archana Kavi and Shammi Thilakan. ‘Identity’ is the second directorial collaboration of Akhil Paul and Anas Khan who have also co-written the film. It is also their second film with Tovino Thomas after ‘Forensic’.
‘Identity’ could not impress the public and critics much during its theatrical run mostly due to its convoluted plot line. Some critics claimed that the film is stylish but lacks substance, and too many twists overcrowd the story overall.
But many a times we have seen such films work great on OTT. Whether or not it will be the case with ‘Identity’ remains to be seen.
‘Identity’ will premiere on Zee5 on 31st January, 2025 in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu.
