Squid Game Season 2 is officially happening and it has left everyone excited. The Korean series is the most successful venture Netflix ever pulled off and the upcoming seasons will only elevate the buzz.
We all know about the captivating character of Sang-Woo. He was an exceptionally bright student, an achiever in the eyes of many but a total bankrupt in reality.
He is initially presented as a gentlemanly person but we see his darker sides as the show progresses. He is determined to win the show at any cost and will not hesitate to betray his own friends for that.
Regardless, Gi-hun wins the final game and Sang-Woo gets killed. All of us were assuming that Sang-Woo won’t return in the second season due to obvious reasons.
But hold on, Park Hae-soo, the actor who played Sang-Woo has hinted at something which you may find interesting.
He said, “Well, whether or not my character will be returning [in Squid Game Season 2], that’s all in the director’s head. So that’s not anything I can say for sure…there are so many traditional Korean childhood games that people haven’t seen yet. I would love to see something like a traditional Korean jump rope.”
This hint is enough to expect two things. Either Sang Woo’s origin story will be there or he never really got killed. If you remember then Sang-Woo stabbed his neck with a cutlery knife. Nobody killed him.
Although it’s not possible to see anything fishy in the first season Sang-Woo is a trickster and there might be a small possibility for him remaining alive.
Whatever the case may be, Sang Woo’s return in Squid Game Season 2 is definitely something to look out for.
