More than 17 years have passed since the second volume of Kill Bill dropped in theatres. We enjoyed The Bride (Beatrix) exacting vengeance from Bill and the rest of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad for attempting to kill her and her unborn child. In the end, she applies the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique on Bill to kill him. But fans believe that there is more to Beatrix’s story. Is there a chance we can witness the return of Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill Vol.3? Let’s find out.
Thurman recently appeared on The Jess Cagle Show where she discussed the possibility of her much-anticipated return to the Kill Bill franchise:
“I can’t tell you anything about it. I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon. I hate to disappoint people. Everybody wishes it would be the case, but I think it’s not immediately on the horizon.”
Thurman‘s statement may break the hearts of the majority of the Kill Bill fans. But we also have to think about the fact that Tarantino has not yet confirmed whether he will work on the third part or not in future. Yes, various rumours have emerged on the internet about the possibility of Kill Bill 3 in recent times. Fans want Thurman’s return and her real-life daughter, Maya Hawke, to play the character of Beatrix’s daughter, B. B. Bill raised her when her mother was in a coma.
In 2020, Tarantino expressed his desire to work on the third part in an interview conducted by The Hollywood Reporter. He revealed that he has an idea about KB 3. But he couldn’t just come up with a cockamamie adventure for The Bride. He also said that Beatrix deserves a better storyline.
Even if we consider all the things mentioned above, the odds of Kill Bill 3 coming out in future are very slim. And Thurman’s recent statement has made things worse for this highly anticipated sequel. We know Tarantino wants to helm only ten films in his career. His previous project with the duo of Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt was the ninth entry in his illustrious filmography. It means that the third Kill Bill instalment may become his last direction project. Or will he come up with something else? Only time will tell us. Stay tuned for more updates.
