Two huge films ‘Vikram Vedha’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan – Part 1’ are all geared up for a grand release in theatres tomorrow. Both these movies have a massive prospective audience, albeit in different parts of the country. Vikram Vedha – Helmed by Pushkar-Gayathri, the neo-noir action thriller revolves around the two titular characters – a tough and upright police officer Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) and a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan). It’s inspired by the immensely popular Indian folktale Vikram-Betaal.
Ponniyin Selvan – Part 1 – The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name, and chronicles the account of the early days of Arulmozhi Varman, who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie features an ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Prakash Raj, amongst others.
