Dread Central has dropped the official trailer of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey on its YouTube channel. The film is a bloody and violent take on the childhood classic. Makers started working on this movie after the original book became public domain in January of this year. It means that Disney no longer holds the rights to beloved characters like Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Christopher Robin. Although, Tigger is not a part of the film as he still remains copyrighted.
The plot revolves around friendly-turned-savage Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. Christopher Robin befriended both of them along with Eeyore during his childhood days. They became the best of friends. Christopher used to bring a lot of edibles for those cute animals. However, his visits became more infrequent as he grew. Christopher stopped visiting them after joining a college. This scenario turned everything upside down. The lack of friendship, joy, and food supply turned all those cuties into savage creatures. It even forced Pooh and Piglet to go insane and kill Eeyore.
Things take a wild turn after Christopher Robin decides to take his wife into the forest to meet his old childhood friends. Soon, he realises that his old buddies have gone completely insane. Both Pooh and Piglet find themselves on a murderous rampage to satisfy their hunger for human flesh.
All the beloved A. A. Milne characters have been redesigned in the upcoming horror project. Piglet has tusks like a warthog. On the other hand, Pooh wears a faded red shirt and looks hideous.
Rhys Frake-Waterfield has written and directed Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. And Scott Jeffery has produced the film under the banner of Jagged Edge Productions. The newly released trailer does not reveal the release date. Stay tuned for more updates.
