Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for ‘WOMB: Women Of My Billion’. The documentary came out on the 17th of June in 2021 and it told the epic on foot journey of Srishti Bakshi from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. The documentary is directed by Ajitesh Sharma. It comes from the producers of ‘The Hunt For Veerappan’.
‘WOMB:Women Of My Billion’ has a very strong feminist message and it is not just about any other long journey or adventure. The adventure goes deeper inside the social evils of Indian families and tries to find out the roots of the problems faced by the Indian woman. Srishti Bakshi not only covers the 3800 kilometres of roads in 230 days, she also stops at different cities and villages to have a talk with the girls, ladies and sometimes have a seminar.
The documentary deals with the disparity of pay scales, with the girl not being able to study due to family standards, about being molested and so on. Srishti Bakshi’s epic journey is told to be the initiation of a freer world for the girls.
The movie will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from the 3rd of May. You should not miss watching the ‘WOMB’ as it poses many vital questions to our society and also brings out many stories that were unheard before.
