Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels has failed to impress both viewers and critics. But the Brie Larson starrer treasured a surprising but memorable cameo of Kelsey Grammer’s Beast, a prominent X-Men character from the 20th Century Fox movies. Now that the X-Men are a part of the MCU, Marvel Studios is working on a new film based on the iconic mutants.
In a recent interview with The Wrap, Grammer talked about his return to the world of X-Men and portraying Beast in a cameo appearance in The Marvels. The actor also talked about his future MCU appearances in the interview. Check out his statement below:
“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will.”
Grammer also hailed Beast as an “extraordinary character”. He added, “I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.”
Marvel Studios planted the first X-Men seeds in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Benedict Cumberbatch starrer had Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier (a member of the Illuminati from Earth-838). A month after MOM’s theatrical release (May 2022), the Disney+ Ms Marvel series officially recognised Kamala Khan as a mutant. And now, we have the post-credits scene of The Marvels, showing Kelsey Grammer’s Beast. Plus, we know Deadpool 3 will explore the Multiverse in the wildest way possible. It will not be surprising to see Beast appearing in the forthcoming Ryan Reynolds starrer.
If Grammer’s X-Men character does not appear in Deadpool 3, then he should become a part of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars. These flicks will conclude The Multiverse Saga. It will be great to see a brilliant mind like Beast helping the Marvel heroes in the upcoming Avengers movies.
We all know that Marvel likes to play long-running games. Beast’s inclusion in The Marvels must mean something. Let’s see how Kevin Feige and his team deal with this scenario. Stay tuned for more updates.
