As per reports, under this collaboration Mi TV users will get access to six films starting from July 31st two hours before their release. On August 1st, Disney+ Hotstar premiered ‘Lootcase’ which was available on Xiaomi TV devices at 5:30 pm itself instead of the 7:30 pm premiere in India.
Other films releasing under the streaming platform’s ‘Multiplex’ banner are Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride of India, Sadak 2, The Big Bull and Khuda Hafiz. These films can be accessed from the home screen of PatchWall on Mi TVs.
This marks the second collaboration between the two companies as Xiaomi had previously included all Hotstar exclusive sports sections on its Mi TV.
This partnership will ensure a new way of consuming content for both Disney+ Hotstar users as well as Mi TV users as they get an advantage to stream content early. It’s a win-win for both companies and will offer users an experience akin to a “first day-first show” feel that has been lacking ever since the lockdown has been in place.
