Netflix’s ‘You’ star Penn Badgley, globally prominent for leading the popular psychological thriller series as the notorious Joe Goldberg, has given a positive filming update about the highly-anticipated Season 5. You Season 5 marks the end of Joe’s journey, serving as the final entry to the popular Netflix series. Considering Kate and Joe’s blooming love story, it’s currently unclear how the final season will turn out.
In a recent social media post, Badgley confirmed that filming for Season 5 has wrapped up. The post featured a video in which the actor explained his experiences while filming the final season.
Production on You Season 5 has wrapped, suggesting a potential Netflix release later this year. Multiple sources indicate that a late 2024 drop is likely. However, the streaming platform has not yet revealed whether we will get the final season into two parts, like Season 4. Part 1 of the fourth season came out in February 2023, while the second part arrived a month later.
Season 4 ended with Joe finally embracing his inner darkness. Moreover, Kate accepts his demons and inherits her father’s assets, allowing her to cover up Joe’s involvement in Rhys’ death. The series finale showed the deranged protagonist moving back to New York with Kate, who now controls her father’s business and wealth. She even aids Joe in rehabilitating his public image. It will be interesting to see where Season 5 can go from here. Some reports suggest that Joe may encounter a brand new antagonist in the final season who will wreak havoc in his life.
But Joe’s moral insanity will be terrifying to watch in You Season 5. He looks untouchable at this point, as now he possesses an entire PR team at his disposal to mop up all his messes. Ngl, this scenario is scary AF! Stream all episodes on Netflix now! Stay tuned for more updates.
