Netflix’s You Season 5 will be the final chapter of Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) story. Season 4 focused on Joe, who adopted a new alias, Jonathan Moore, and his efforts to search for Marienne, taking him across Europe. Soon, he finds himself entangled with a group of rich and privileged people. When members of this group start turning up dead and Joe is implicated, he’s forced to confront a mysterious killer who is also blackmailing him.
At the same time, Joe struggles to maintain his false identity and finds himself developing romantic feelings for Kate in the last season. With so much happening in Season 4, fans are eager to know what awaits him in Season 5.
When is You Season 5 releasing on Netflix?
With less than a month left until the fifth season’s premiere, we’ll be able to watch the final installment starting April 24 on Netflix.
Who’s in the cast for the final season?
We’ll see plenty of familiar faces in Season 5. Penn Badgley returns as Joe Goldberg, alongside Charlotte Ritchie (Kate Lockwood-Goldberg), Madeline Brewer (Bronte), Griffin Matthews (Teddy Lockwood), Anna Camp (Maddie Lockwood), Nava Mau (Detective Marquez), and more.
What do the creators say about You Season 5?
Showrunner Sera Gamble recently gave an in-depth interview with Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming season, where she teased that fans would witness the “unleashed” version of Joe in Season 5. She shared:
“He has, in some ways, really gotten out of his own way,” she said. “He’s been working at half-power basically this whole time with the fact that he still holds the idea of romantic love in such high esteem. Love and mentorship are so important to him. That’s really the double-edged sword that still remains.”
With the vast resources Joe now has at his disposal, we may see a colder and more ruthless side of him in the final season.
Do we have a plot for Season 5?
The fifth and final season will take Joe back to where it all began—New York City. Just when he starts believing he has finally built a good life, his haunting past and dark desires threaten to dismantle his newly established ideal world.
