There has always been a notion regarding so as how the DC movies are “dark” and always consist a serious tone. Well there is going to be a significant increase in the maturity level of the upcoming Snyder Cut because Zack Snyder himself believes that his much anticipated epic might be getting an R-Rated certificate and also a simultaneous theatrical release.
Snyder recently gave his statement to Entertainment Weekly which stated that Justice League might be getting an R-Rated certificate from the MPAA. There are various reasons for that and the topmost which has grabbed people’s attention is that Batman will be seen dropping F-bombs. And its not just about Batman but also Cyborg, who will be joining the action.
Cyborg who is not too happy with whatever’s going on in his life before meeting the Justice League will be “speaking his mind”. And with Steppenwolf, who is pretty much just “hacking people in half” the R rating will be the norm to go by due to excessive violence and profanity.
Snyder also desired a theatrical release for the movie and was vocal on the recent HBO Max deal. He is continuously pushing for a simultaneous theatrical release for the movie and said that the trend is in reverse – meaning that the movies which were supposed to get a theatrical release have arrived on streaming platforms directly. But with the newly formed HBO Max deal which allows the movies to have a simultaneous release on HBO Max and in theatres, Snyder is not shying away from the idea.
“I’m a huge fan and a big supporter of the cinematic experience, and we’re already talking about Justice League playing theatrically at the same time it’s coming to HBO Max. So weirdly, it’s the reverse”.
The upcoming Justice League on HBO Max is going to be an 4-part miniseries with each episode having the runtime of an hour. So it will be interesting on how a theatrical release might come into play. The “Snyder Cut” arrives on HBO Max in 2021!
