Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon is all set to arrive on Netflix on December 15. Nearly two years ago, we witnessed his fan army going the extra mile to campaign for his version of Justice League. Ultimately, we got his cut. This scenario proved how much power and influence Snyder has upon the new generation of DC fans. While he is in no mood to return to the world of superheroes any time soon, he has mentioned some projects that he wants to adapt in future.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder revealed which Marvel and DC projects he wants to direct. He has one particular Batman story in his mind, the classic ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ comic book storyline (1986). He wants to bestow a “true representation of the graphic novel”. Penned down by Frank Miller, the comic book tells the tale of an aged Bruce Wayne who decides to come out of his retirement to take down crime as The Caped Crusader again. A two-part animated adaptation of this vintage storyline came out in 2012 and 2013.
As for becoming a part of the MCU, Snyder shared his interest in helming a feature project based on Daredevil and Elektra. He chose Frank Miller’s 1990 ‘Elektra Lives Again’ comic book series for a future movie adaptation. However, he is not interested in joining other Marvel projects.
We all know about Zack Snyder and his history with superhero movies and Warners Bros. The Rebel Moon helmer has directed four superhero projects: Watchmen (2009), Man of Steel (2013), Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).
The upcoming Rebel Moon flick will tell the first half of a two-part story. The second part, The Scargiver, will arrive in April next year. Stay tuned for more updates.
