Sikhya Entertainment, owned by Indian Oscar winner Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Karan Johar‘s Dharmatic Entertainment are joining forces for the first time to produce an original series called “Gyaarah Gyaarah” for the streaming platform Zee5.
Directed by Umesh Bist, known for the film “Pagglait”, the series is described as an investigative fantasy drama that spans three decades and timelines: 1990, 2001, and 2016. It combines elements of mysticism, science, and mystery.
The series will be produced by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain for Sikhya, and Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta for Dharmatic.
Guneet Monga Kapoor and Kartiki Gonsalves previously won an Oscar for the documentary short “The Elephant Whisperers,” produced by Sikhya and Netflix. Zee5 recently unveiled an extensive slate of 111 projects for 2023.
Karan Johar stated that the partnership brings together storytellers who have always supported diverse and unconventional narratives, and he is excited to see the outcome of their collaboration.
Guneet Monga Kapoor described “Gyaarah Gyaarah” as one of their most exciting ventures, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to explore a new space and genre.
Binged has always pointed out that the slate of Zee5 is either too mediocre or does not reach the masses. With Dharmatic on board, there are chances that the series will be promoted well. Let’s see what Zee5 does this time.
The past is a memory, the future is a dream and the present – a trap.
