ZEE5 has finally revealed the release date for ‘The Broken News Season 2’, the much-awaited new season of its popular show. The streaming platform also revealed an extended trailer for the upcoming series. The Broken News Season 2 premieres on ZEE5 on 3rd May, 2024, more than two years after the debut season of the series premiered on ZEE5.
The Broken News Season 2 brings to the fore more suspense and sensationalism than the previous season. Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar return to reprise their roles of top journalists Ameena, Dipankar and Radha, respectively. Taaruk Raina, Indraneil Sengupta, Suchitra Pillai, Akshay Oberoi, Dinker Sharma, among others, make up the rest of the cast.
‘The Broken News’ has been created by ZEE5 in collaboration with BBC Studios India. It is the official Indian adaptation of acclaimed BBC show, ‘Press’. The only difference is that ‘Press’ is set in the backdrop of the print media, while ‘The Broken News’ centres on a TV newsroom. The series is set in the cut-throat world of TV journalism and breaking news sensationalism.
The new season of ‘The Broken News’ will see the return of award-winning director Vinay Waikul, who will once again helm The Broken News Season 2. Like the first season, Season 2 will also be written by Sambit Mishra. Writer Mike Bartlett, who’s written the original series ‘Press’, is credited as co-writer and creator of ‘The Broken News’.
