The sophomore season of ZEE5‘s flagship drama series Loser is set to made available for streaming on the platform from the 21st of this month. In a bid to promote Loser 2’s premieres on ZEE5, the OTT giant organized a pre-release event in Hyderabad the other day. The event was held at Trident Hotel and it was a gala affair. Coming to the topic, ZEE5 dumped Covid safety protocols in order to ensure maximum media coverage for Loser 2‘s promotional event.
First, ZEE5 sent out a message to media circles, saying only fully vaccinated media personnel will be allowed to enter the venue. This didn’t work out very well as the vast majority of the media people did not show up.
ZEE5 was then quick to react. In the very last minute, they sent out text messages to the media fraternity, saying even those who haven’t taken the vaccine can attend the event. This was more of a last gasp effort to ensure maximum media coverage for the pre-release event.
Well, ZEE5 was initially particular about the Covid safety protocols, but they then flouted the regulations for the above-mentioned reason.
Previously, something very similar happened with the promotional event of Nani’s Tuck Jagadish. Amazon Prime, who orchestrated a direct to OTT release for Tuck Jagadish organized a grand pre-release event. They too, at first, asked only fully vaccinated media personnel to attend the event. But after facing backlash, they permitted everyone. ZEE5 has done somthing very identical now.
Coming to Loser 2, the drama series has Priyadarshi, Shashank, Kalpika and others in the lead roles. It premieres on ZEE5 on the 21st of this month.
