Zee5 has announced that the popular psychological thriller Mithya will be returning for a second season. The series, which stars Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani, follows the story of two women who become embroiled in a web of lies and deceit after one accuses the other of plagiarism.
We get a glimpse of the same problem in the announcement clip of the second season. The professor claims that in every story there is an original and a cheat. The second season will carry forward that problem.
The first season of Mithya was average both critically and commercially. It received not so positive reactions for its performances, writing, and direction. The series was claimed as one of the most-watched shows on Zee5.
Mithya is written by Srijit Mukherji and directed by Rohan Sippy. The second season is expected to stream soon.
Zee5 is soon going to be merged with SonyLIV. This can happen very soon, almost by the end of June.
Produced by Applause Entertainment, Mithya Season 2 doesn’t have the great face value of the first season. Thus, it would have to depend upon a reset story which is better than the mess-ups in the last season.
Let’s see what happens. Stay tuned to Binged for official updates about the series.
