The new season of ZEE5’s murder mystery series ‘Sunflower’ is easily one of the most awaited on OTT. It’s been more than two years since the interesting whodunit premiered on ZEE5, back in December 2021. And it’s been more than six months since ZEE5 announced Sunflower Season 2.
Now, after six months of keeping fans waiting, ZEE5 has finally revealed a new update on Sunflower Season 2. Though it’s nothing more than a “coming soon” update, the new update is enough to whet the appetites of fans of murder mysteries. More so, since ZEE5’s ‘Sunflower’ is India’s answer to Hulu’s ‘Murders In The Building’ – well, sort of, if we may.
Along with the fresh update on Sunflower Season 2, ZEE5 has also revealed an exciting piece of news for digital viewers. You can now watch all episodes of Sunflower Season 1 for free on ZEE5 from 1st January to 31st January – no paid subscription needed.
The free streaming of Sunflower Season 1 is a good promotional campaign for Sunflower Season 2, as well as to lure viewers into subscribing to the streaming platform when Sunflower Season 2 premieres on ZEE5 soon.
For those who don’t know, Sunflower is a murder mystery series, created by showrunner Vikas Bahl. The second season of the series is directed by Navin Gujral. The show features Sunil Grover in the lead role alongside Ashish Vidyarthi, Ranvir Shorey, Mukul Chaddha and Girish Kulkarni in key roles.
When a resident of Sunflower Housing Society, is found murdered in his flat, police inspectors Digendra (Ranvir Shorey) and Tambe (Girish Kulkarni) zero in on two primary suspects – Ahuja (Mukul Chadda), the dead man’s next-door neighbour; and Sonu Singh (Sunil Grover), a man with personality disorders, who lives two floors down. In Sunflower Season 2, only, the number of suspects has risen exponentially.
Sunflower Season 2 premieres on ZEE5 soon. Stay tuned for more updates on the new season of the murder mystery.
