Homegrown streaming platform ZEE5 seems to have found the proverbial golden goose of content, in the form of Bengali originals. After the success of ZEE5’s Bengali shows like Chhotolok, Abar Proloy, Roktokorobi, Shabash Feluda, and many more, ZEE5 has now revealed its next Bengali original series. Titled ‘Paashbalish’, ZEE5’s upcoming series is a romantical thriller, comprising seven episodes.
Paashbalish boasts the stellar cast of Ishaa Saha, Sourav Das and Suhatro Mukherjee in lead roles. The series is helmed by Korok Murmu, who’s earlier directed the well-received Kaali and B. C. Baal. ‘Paashbalish’ is produced by Mahabahu Motion Pictures.
The series is set in the backdrop of the age-old rivalry between two clans on the Tin Bigha corridor – the Bengalis and the Paharbongshis. The story of Paashbalish follows Chandu who gets separated from his childhood love, Anchol. Fifteen years later, he’s back in her life, but she doesn’t know that he is the same guy she knew from her childhood. Will Chandu be able to get his love back in the midst of strife and violence? The narrative is set in the world of drugs and human-trafficking, all of it taking place in a disputed war zone.
