ZEE5 has just revealed the release date for its upcoming movie, ‘Tarla’. The biographical drama will premiere on ZEE5 on 7th July. ZEE5 has also announced that it will launch the ‘Tarla’ trailer tomorrow, 23rd June, at the ongoing Swiggy Food Festival in Mumbai. For a movie on India’s cooking queen Tarla Dalal, it is apt that its trailer be launched in the midst of the flavours of food, drink and merriment.
For those who don’t know, ‘Tarla’ stars accomplished actress Huma Qureshi in the titular role of culinary expert, Tarla Dalal. Indians know the late Tarla Dalal as a chef par excellence, entrepreneur, pioneering author of hundreds of cookery books, food writer, cookery show host and much more. She was also the only Indian to have received the Padma Shri for her work in the field of cooking. Besides, the homemaker-turned-entrepreneur was one of the most elegant, soft-spoken and genteel ladies of her time.
‘Tarla’ will tell Tarla Dalal’s inspiring story in a dramatised form, led by Huma Qureshi’s considerable acting skills. Sharib Hashmi plays the role of the cooking diva’s husband in the film.
‘Tarla’ is directed by Piyush Mehta, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Nitesh Tiwari, under their respective banners, RSVP Movies and Earth Sky Notes.
