The whole year was nothing less than a bumpy ride for Zee5. The year had a fantastic start with films like Valimai, RRR, and The Kashmir Files. It gained insane views on the platform but they could hardly do anything appreciable in terms of original films.
However, in the later part of the year, the platform gave a highly appreciated film such as Blurr. Also, Chup is getting clicked on and watched a lot. According to the official data, it was streamed for over 275 Million minutes.
But the platform is not satisfied yet and is planning for Pitchers Season 2 with some tall tactics. Let’s see what they are doing for this. The strategy for Pitchers even goes beyond Pitchers and transcends to other titles.
In the last few hours, Zee5 has made several announcements:-
The first 15 minutes of Chup are available for free streaming.
Amitabh Bachchan’s highly appreciated Jhund to stream free from December 30 to January 1st.
But the buzziest announcement was made by the introduction of Ashneer Grover for Pitchers Season 2. In case you are aware, Pitchers is already a highly awaited title and the inclusion of Ashneer Grover in it would certainly spark a lot of views.
After Shark Tank India, Ashneer and his presence can be a boon for any show aligning with the corporate theme. In the case of Pitchers, it does and the rest depends on whatever the show comes with. From the 23rd of December, this doubt will be clarified too.
Thus Chup and Jhund are mere dumplings because they are attracting the crowd for watching Pitchers. And seeing Zee5 going so aggressive for a show is quite rare.
