Apple’s senior vice president of services, Eddy Cue, shared a look back at the company’s performance in 2025 and you have to know this.
Cue described Pluribus as Apple TV’s biggest series so far. The show helped drive a 36 percent increase in engagement in December. Until now, that level of success was largely associated with Severance, which had been Apple TV’s most talked-about original series. With Pluribus, Apple appears to have found another major hit.
December also saw the streaming release of F1: The Movie after its theatrical run, along with The Family Plan 2 and the holiday special A Charlie Brown Christmas.
As usual, Apple did not share detailed numbers. The company did not explain how it measures engagement or how many viewers watched its content. Since Apple TV launched in 2019, Apple has never released subscriber or viewership figures.
Cue said Apple TV saw strong audience growth in Europe and Latin America, along with continued expansion in the United States. In 2025, the service also dropped the “plus” from its name.
Apple reports all its services together, including Apple TV, Apple Music, the App Store, cloud storage, and games. Cue said Apple Music had its best year ever, with record listenership and new subscribers, but did not provide exact figures. The App Store reached an average of 850 million weekly users worldwide.
Well, until the end of 2024, AppleTV was not doing its best, but finally, its good content is attracting audiences, and that is a relief.
