It’s a quiet week for Indian OTT. After last week’s big buzz with Mandala Murders, Sarzameen, and Rangeen, this week feels like there’s just nothing new to look forward to. Apart from a small release called Bakaiti on ZEE5, there’s really nothing else worth talking about.
This kind of uneven release schedule keeps happening. One week, you’re flooded with five shows and don’t know what to watch first. The next week, you’re scrolling for something new and finding nothing at all. It’s either too much or too little, with no balance in between. Because of this, some really good shows end up getting lost when they all release together, and other weeks feel completely empty.
Bakaiti is a sweet little drama about the struggles of the middle class. It has charm and heart, and it definitely deserves attention. But when it’s the only thing releasing, it ends up carrying the whole week on its shoulders. That’s not fair to the show, and it’s not great for the audience either.
OTT platforms need to plan better. A more balanced release schedule would give each show the chance to shine and let viewers enjoy content without feeling overwhelmed or underwhelmed. Right now, though, unless you’re diving into Bakaiti, your weekend might be better spent catching up on older shows or just rewatching your favorites.
