Prime Video currently has some really good Indian shows. Khauf was a really amazing watch, Panchayat Season 4 is still drawing in big numbers, and even a lesser-known series like Mitti: Ek Nayi Pehchaan is slowly building an audience on MX Player.
But despite all this, people aren’t watching as much as they should be.
And the reason is pretty clear.
The ads.
More and more paid subscribers are starting to feel frustrated. They’re not getting the smooth experience they signed up for. Instead, they’re forced to sit through constant ad breaks, right in the middle of emotional or intense moments. It completely ruins the mood.
Some people have even started turning to piracy again. Not because they want free content, but because it offers a more peaceful experience. Ironically, they already have a paid subscription but feel pushed away by the very platform they trusted.
It’s especially disappointing when you consider that Prime Video recently increased its subscription prices. A lot of users were willing to pay more, thinking it would mean better quality or fewer interruptions. But that is a big toll on their budget.
If this keeps happening, even the best content will go unnoticed. People will start skipping shows, not because they’re bad, but because the experience is just not worth the effort.
Prime Video really needs to fix this. Viewers aren’t asking for much. They just need a clean, ad-free watch after paying the full amount. And honestly, that’s not too much to expect.
