Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is finally coming to Netflix India, bringing an end to the complaints.
The story began with the first Dhurandhar film, which premiered on Netflix on January 30. The movie was released simultaneously for Indian and international audiences. Since Netflix was home to the first film, many fans naturally expected the sequel to follow the same path.
However, the Indian streaming rights of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge went to JioHotstar instead of Netflix. The news disappointed many viewers because it meant that Netflix subscribers in India would need another OTT subscription to continue watching the franchise.
The situation became even more complicated when Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge premiered on Netflix on May 14 for international audiences. While viewers outside India could stream the film immediately, Indian audiences were unable to access it on Netflix. Instead, they had to wait until June 5, when the film finally arrived on JioHotstar.
During this period, many fans questioned why a sequel that was already available on Netflix in several countries could not be watched on Netflix India. The gap between the international release and the Indian release became a major talking point among viewers.
Interestingly, just before the sequel’s arrival on JioHotstar, the first Dhurandhar film was also added to the platform. As a result, both Netflix India and JioHotstar were streaming the first film, while the second film remained exclusive to JioHotstar in India.
That exclusivity now appears to be ending. On the midnight of June 18, Netflix India announced that Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge would begin streaming on the platform from June 19. However, the announcement is very cryptic.
The platform posted the popular dialogue “Ghar Ki Yaad Nahi Aayi Tujhe Jassi?” which is exclusively in Part 2. Obviously, the Ghar means Netflix India in this case.
This development is significant because it means audiences will no longer have to switch platforms to watch the two films. With both Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge now available on Netflix India as well as JioHotstar, viewers have the freedom to choose whichever service they prefer.
Important to note that Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will come to Netflix India with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam audios.
