Disney Plus is preparing for another round of price hikes in the US from October 21, 2025, but what about the viewers in India? The standalone streamer will see its ad-supported plan move from $9.99 to $11.99 per month, while the ad-free plan will rise to $18.99 from $15.99. Since its launch in 2019, Disney Plus has raised its subscription fees almost every year, marking more than a 70 percent increase over time.
Along with the rising costs, the company has faced criticism over its handling of subscribers, from its password-sharing crackdown to controversies around its television network. These challenges have frustrated users already burdened with rising subscription fees across multiple streaming platforms.
Despite these global changes, Indian audiences who access Disney content through JioHotstar remain unaffected for now. JioHotstar continues to offer Disney Plus titles within its existing subscription model, without passing along these new increases. While there is always a possibility of higher prices in the future, no immediate change seems likely.
For Indian viewers, this means continued access to Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and other Disney favorites at the same cost they have been paying. The streaming landscape is shifting quickly, but JioHotstar users can enjoy their favorite shows and films without worrying about the kind of steep hikes now troubling Disney Plus subscribers in the US.
