The 56th International Film Festival of India brought together some of the most talked-about stories from the world of streaming. Audiences and creators arrived in Goa with excitement, waiting to see which series would earn the festival’s top honour in the OTT category. Among the many titles that drew attention, one show slowly gathered praise for its heartfelt storytelling, strong performances and celebration of music.
That show was Bandish Bandits Season 02, which went on to receive the award for Best Web Series. Directed by Anand Tiwari, it streams on Amazon Prime Video. The jury appreciated how the series brought classical and contemporary music to a wide audience in a way that felt accessible. The creators accepted the award from Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, during a grand ceremony attended by senior dignitaries.
The other nominees were Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2, Mitti: Ek Nayi Pehchaan, Paatal Lok Season 2 and Black Warrant.
The new season moves between Jodhpur and the hills of Shimla. It follows Radhe as he deals with changes within his family and the weight of his musical heritage. Tamanna begins again at the Royal Himalayan Music School, hoping to find clarity in her career and in her life. Their journeys cross once more when both enter a national music competition that tests their belief in themselves and in each other.
With a strong ensemble cast and a gentle blend of emotion and melody, the season has earned a special place in the hearts of viewers and now at IFFI as well.
