JioHotstar is working on a new series inspired by India’s Chandrayaan space missions. The project is being developed under the banner Hotstar Special Space Gen Chandrayaan. At the moment, there is no clear confirmation about the format or storyline of the show.
What makes this project interesting is that it is being produced by The Viral Fever. Because of TVF’s strong background in storytelling and character driven shows, it is being assumed that this will be a drama series rather than a documentary. The show is expected to take creative inspiration from Chandrayaan 1, 2 and 3, focusing on the people, pressure, and emotions behind the mission instead of only the science.
India has already seen success with space based stories on screen. Mangalyaan was adapted into the film Mission Mangal, which starred Akshay Kumar and highlighted the challenges faced by scientists during the Mars mission. Compared to that film, this upcoming series could explore the subject in greater depth due to its longer format.
As of now, there are no details about the cast, release date, or episode count. JioHotstar has also not released any official teaser or announcement. Viewers are expecting more clarity in the coming weeks. Until then, Space Gen Chandrayaan remains a promising project that could bring India’s space journey to life in a fresh and engaging way.
