Massive June 5 OTT Clash: Gullak 5, The Pyramid Scheme, Brown

Massive June 5 OTT Clash: Gullak 5, The Pyramid Scheme, Brown

Do you have plans for this weekend? Cancel them! Stock up on popcorn or whatever beverages you love, but don’t forget this date: June 5, 2026, because this day is shaping up to be pretty big for Indian OTT viewers.

Instead of the usual scattered releases, streaming giants are dropping three of the most anticipated, radically different projects on the same day. Whether you are craving cosy family nostalgia, a dark psychological thriller, or a high-stakes corporate hustle, June 5 has you covered. Here is your ultimate guide to the massive Friday clash between Gullak Season 5 (SonyLIV), The Pyramid Scheme (Prime Video), and Brown (ZEE5), and where you should stream first.

First, we have Gullak Season 5! For years, the Mishra family, consisting of Santosh, Shanti, Annu, and Aman, has felt less like fictional characters and more like our own next-door neighbours. Returning for its fifth season on SonyLIV, TVF’s Gullak is back to do what it does best: pull at your heartstrings with the beautiful, chaotic realities of urban middle-class India.

This season introduces Anant V Joshi to the core ensemble as the narrative dives into modern adulting, career pressures, shifting family dynamics, and the daily financial hustles we all know too well. It remains the ultimate comfort show, making it the perfect choice if you need a break from guns and gritty politics.

If Gullak represents honest, hard-earned middle-class savings, The Pyramid Scheme on Amazon Prime Video explores the dangerous allure of getting rich quickly. Created by Shreyansh Pandey and produced by TVF, this brand-new corporate financial drama shifts the lens to ambition, betrayal, and multi-level marketing traps.

Set against the culturally rich backdrop of Haridwar, the story follows Goldy (played by Paramvir Singh Cheema), an impatient, charismatic young man desperate for social status, who teams up with the grounded Manoj Srivastava (Ranvir Shorey) to scale a flashy marketing network.

Boasting a talented cast including Shekhar Suman and Akhilendra Mishra, this series promises an addictive look into the dark, human cost of modern hustle culture as unchecked greed threatens a catastrophic collapse.

Perhaps the biggest underdog among these titles is Abhinav Deo’s Brown, arriving on ZEE5 on June 5. Adapted from Abheek Barua’s acclaimed crime novel City of Death, this neo-noir psychological thriller follows a deeply fractured police officer tracking a serial killer who believes he is on a divine mission.

Karisma Kapoor stars in what she calls her toughest, most unglamorous role yet as Rita Brown, a suicidal, alcoholic cop wrestling with severe personal trauma. Set in the rain-slicked, shadow-heavy streets of Kolkata, she navigates a horrific teenage murder case alongside her junior colleague (Surya Sharma) and a mysterious psychiatrist (Jisshu Sengupta).

Notably, it was the only Indian web series selected for the prestigious Berlinale Series Market Selects, making this slow-burning, atmospheric mystery a must-watch for fans of Paatal Lok or Delhi Crime.

Ultimately, June 5 is going to be a massive battleground for OTT viewers in India. With three heavy-hitters dropping simultaneously, Indian OTT platforms are delivering a legendary weekend of binge-watching. Which show are you going to click on first? Stay tuned for more updates.
