Analysis
Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein is a pretty decent series with some interesting aspects. However, the entire series is not something appreciable as a whole.
The views are decent, given the popularity of the first season but yet again, it is not something remarkable.
Let’s come to the films now. First of all, huge congratulations to Netflix India for bringing 3 original films. It is not at all a small feat.
Nayanthara: Beyond A Fairy Tale is about Nayanthara and it became the centre of a big controversy in Kollywood. The issue is currently in the court and nothing helped in gaining the documentary good views. Even after all that controversy, Nayanthara’s documentary could not get any view at all.
Vijay 69 is a really mediocre film by Yash Raj Films and the response was no better than mediocre.
Sikandar Ka Muqaddar on the other hand is a bad film. It has a weak script and a highly predictable plot. The screenplay needed a massive improvement which it never got.
The response looks not so great so far and the reasons are justified.
To sum up, out of all the three original films that Netflix India brought for us, none of them stand out.
Going to the licensed films, the real deal begins. The Buckingham Murders became a surprising success that even surpassed Devara in the first two weeks. Devara’s performance was decent in the first two weeks but it shot up immediately after the release of the Hindi version.
Lucky Bhaskar is getting a really great response as it should. Although it is very early to say, the movie is expected to gain a lot of views in the subsequent weeks.
Bagheera got decent numbers, nothing surprising in its performance.
To sum up, Netflix India deserves no more than 4 out of 10 for November 2024. All the best for December.
