Analysis
Let’s begin with the tentpole series of the month, “The Bads of Bollywood.” It is a celebration of Bollywood, and as soon as it started streaming, people gave it applause. Yes, the show makes sense only to a hardcore Bollywood lover, and that is why a lot of people did not even watch it. The show got very high ratings, but the views were disappointing in comparison to the buzz. It got an even smaller debut than The Royals.
Talking about Inspector Zende, he suffered a similar fate. The film was appreciated for Bajpayee’s performance and overall dark humour. However, it did not make a huge impact on the views. It is the public that makes films like “The Jewel Thief” a success and “Inspector Zende” a mediocrity.
So we see a pattern over here, good content got missed out because of certain reasons.
Let’s talk about Licensed Films now. The month saw the release of two huge blockbusters on Netflix India i.e. Mahavatar Narsimha and Saiyaara. Mahavatar Narsimha minted money even after coming to Netflix. Saiyaara made a record debut by entering #1 position in the global non-English list of films.
All the other films Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira did not meet expected numbers but they definitely performed better than expected. Thanks to the holidays.
Netflix India deserved 5.5 out of 10 for how it entertained us in the month of September 2025.
