When Kohrra returned with its second season, it did not try to be louder or bigger. It chose to be deeper. The writing is better, the emotions feel lived in, and many critics praised it and those who watched it closely know it is one of the strongest crime dramas made in India.
A big reason this season feels even stronger is Mona Singh. She brings a spectacular intensity that lifts every scene she is in. In many ways, she elevates the second season beyond the first.
Yet despite this quality, the show only reached number ten on Netflix’s global non English chart. For a series that stands far above many average thrillers, this is disappointing.
The contrast becomes sharper when we look at Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web. That show received mixed to negative reactions and was often described as average. Still, it went on to claim the number one spot globally and created history.
The problem is not the makers. They delivered quality without compromise. They trusted silence over noise. They chose layered storytelling instead of easy thrills. That takes courage in today’s streaming race.
The problem is the audience. Viewers often complain about weak writing and loud storytelling. But when a thoughtful and well-crafted show arrives, many ignore it. Fast-paced crime with simple plots travels faster. Slow-burning drama that asks for attention struggles to trend.
The makers delivered excellence without compromise. They deserve appreciation. If we truly want meaningful stories, we must support them when they arrive. Otherwise, only the loudest shows will win.
