For October 2025, Netflix India’s lineup presents a striking contrast. While major Hollywood titles are set to dominate the platform, the slate of new Indian originals feels noticeably sparse. With prominent, buzzy, big-budget projects like Monster: The Ed Gein Story, the docuseries on Victoria Beckham, and new seasons of hits like The Diplomat and The Witcher flooding the service, the spotlight next month is clearly on international content.
Aside from the anticipated releases of War 2, Kurukshetra, and Netflix’s first Tamil series of the year, The Game, October’s Indian offerings seem very limited compared to their Hollywood and other international counterparts.
In addition to the titles mentioned above, October will see the arrival of Steve (led by Cillian Murphy), Boots, The Woman in Cabin 10 (starring Keira Knightley), the animated adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Six Kings Slam 2025 (featuring tennis stars Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas), Romantics Anonymous (a K-drama series), Nobody Wants This (starring Kristen Bell), Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite (led by Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba), and Colin Farrell’s Ballad of a Small Player, and many more.
This overload of international titles, paired with the substantial lack of Indian content, raises questions about Netflix’s promotional and programming strategy. While it makes sense for a global platform to highlight its biggest and buzziest worldwide hits, the thin regional pipeline risks frustrating Indian subscribers.
The massive volume and promotional push behind Hollywood releases often end up overshadowing Indian productions. Just look at how Rana Naidu was drowned out by the buzz around Squid Game Season 3 in India. This imbalance makes it difficult for local titles to gain traction and find their audience, even in their own country.
