This issue raises larger questions about platform performance. Amazon has invested billions into content, from blockbuster originals to marquee series, but is the tech keeping up? What’s the point of owning streaming rights to the biggest global hits if the basic experience of “press play” fails?
In a competitive OTT space, user experience matters more than ever. A one-minute delay feels like a dealbreaker when a competitor starts streaming in seconds.
Maybe this is a bug. Maybe it’s a temporary lapse. But if Prime Video doesn’t fix it soon, loyalty may shift, not because people don’t love the content, but because watching it becomes a test of patience.
