Two Much Falls Flat: Kajol & Twinkle Miss the Mark

Two Much Falls Flat: Kajol & Twinkle Miss the Mark

Prime Video’s latest celebrity chat show, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, has opened to a somewhat flat start. Despite featuring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan as guests on the debut episode, the show failed to live up to expectations.

Both actresses are publicly known for their zero-filter humour and sharp wit, which led many to believe that these two Bollywood queens were perfect as hosts for Two Much. Prime Video also heavily marketed the show based on these ladies’ real-life spicy and unfiltered personas.

What should have been a raunchy, wild, and meme-worthy debut instead turned out to be a mild display of entertainment. There’s a reason why Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan is considered the ultimate king of the celebrity talk show genre in India. Yes, it has its share of critics and has landed itself in plenty of controversies over the years. But we cannot ignore the impact it has left on viewers, it is, quite simply, a staple.

This is why many were curious to see how Two Much would fare against Koffee With Karan. With hosts like Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, the opening episode should have been a complete blast. Instead, it emerged as a slow-paced podcast where the hosts seemed to forget that, at the end of the day, they were running a show.

Early reviews of Two Much haven’t been encouraging. While the chemistry between Kajol and Twinkle has been praised, the show fails to live up to its “unfiltered” and “spicy” marketing. Rather than fiery banter and juicy conversations, viewers were left with chats that felt polite and flat.

The episode’s games and filler activities are being widely panned as boring and distracting. Critics felt these segments added little value and often drained the energy from the show.

Even when the hosts attempted to discuss serious topics like the age gap in Bollywood and gender inequality, the conversations often felt shallow, quickly brushed aside with lame jokes or tone-deaf replies. That said, the opening episode did have some genuinely heartfelt moments, such as Salman Khan opening up about his nerve condition and revealing his desire to become a father.

While Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle has a strong concept and charismatic hosts, the first episode’s underwhelming performance has left many viewers and critics wanting more. The show’s success will depend on whether future episodes can tap into the unfiltered, raunchy, and mischievous energy promised by its title and hosts, rather than playing it safe with polite chatter. Stay tuned for more updates.

Here’s how critics and viewers have reacted to the debut episode!
