When regional platforms are struggling to do their marketing beyond their reach, KableOne might just have cracked the code. Why not partnering up with Jio.
Jio is a nation wide phenomenon, which has a wide range of branches, starting from technology to entertainment. Jio is an expanding marketing system.
But the main problem being it can be a hit or miss.
Because, among all the streaming platforms “JioCinema”, which mainly focuses on popular hindi tv shows and in the premium version movies like “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” are also available, is standing as its main opponent.
But it seems like Jio is expanding its wings by including the popular Punjabi OTT platform “KableOne”.
“KableOne” was backed up by the leading Punjabi studio “Saga Studios” with versatile movies and series across Punjab.
KabelOne’s offers movies on demand, live channels and radio, just like JioCinema.
KabelOne hand picked some prominent films like, “Ardas Karan”, “Subedar Joginder Singh”, “Manje Bistre”, “Warning”, and “Cheta Singh”, many more.
KableOne CEO Simranjeet Singh expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration by saying that he is bringing out stories from Punjab, and he strongly believes that Punjab and its stories are the next big step.
Singh has already collaborated with Mumbai based productions, such as “Shalimar Productions” for films like, “Constable Harjeet Kaur” which are currently under pre-production.
As well as films such as “Do Dooni Panj” which are scheduled to release on 27 September, many more Punjabi movies are under the production with Subtitles in English making the films accessible to non-Punjabi viewers as well.
But, a bit of difficulty comes when we look into the subscription system .The Rs 2,500 one time payment per annum basic plan allows for just two devices to be logged in simultaneously, with the per monthly price being Rs 249.
Which is a bit pricey for the viewers.
The already ruling streaming platforms like “Netflix”, “Prime Video” and “Disney plus Hotstar”, has been in this kinda situation and evolved a lot, and knows how the market works.
Now the question is will “KableOne” stand out in this field or it will just be another addition.
Nonetheless it is a great movie for JIoStores to inculcate diversity in this platform.
